Coaching Education & Coaching Requirements

USA Volleyball and Hoosier Region coaching requirements and information on coaching education programs

All adult Hoosier Region members with junior contact are required to clear the USA Volleyball background screening protocol which is part of the electronic registration process. Adult members who fall into the following categories would be required to pass the background screen – coaches, officials, club directors, event directors (and their staff) and junior club chaperones.

It is also mandatory for all Hoosier Region/USA Volleyball coaches to take and pass the IMPACT (Increased Mastery and Practical Application of Coaching Theory) coaching accreditation course within 45 days of your registration with our organization. Passing this course is a one time requirement and once the course is successfully completed your record in the USAV registration system will reflect that you are an IMPACT certified coach. With USA Volleyball’s implementation of the United States Olympic Committee’s Safe Sport program beginning in 2014 Safe Sport certification was included as part of your IMPACT certification provided the course was taken after September 1, 2014 and before September 1st. 2017. The Safe Sport certification is posted in your individual Webpoint record in the same area where the Background Screen , IMPACT and other coaching certifications are posted.

Here is the current information as of November 15, 2017 to register for the course and complete Safe Sport certification:

Beginning with the 2017-18 season on September 1, 2017, a new HR/USAV protocol has been added for any adult who is required to clear the mandatory USAV background screen (see above for details).
